Gloucester Canal, Hempsted – Pilot (68 pegs)

Fished between Hempsted and Pilot, it was again the canal’s bream shoals that made up most of the leading weights.

Nigel Baker, of Devizes AA, came out on top from noted peg 47 on Hempsted Bend with 12 slabs for 26-8-0 taken on groundbait feeder with worm and maggot.

Pegs in the 20s opposite the garage continued to produce with Rob Quinn on peg 23 running the winner close with 26-0-0 of bream on the feeder.

It was tight on the pairs front with Nigel Baker and Dave Clapton scoring 93 points to take victory, just edging out Steve Long and Nigel Evans.
