There are more big carp in England than ever, but a fish over 30lb is still special… especially if you’re just seven-years-old!

That’s the tender age of Thomas Taylor, who recently landed this common of 31lb on a trip to a stillwater in Guilford.

“He was fishing with his dad down the local pond, and just 15 minutes after setting up, he had a take,” Thomas’ mum, Kathrine, told us.

“After a long battle at close quarters on his 6ft rods, Tomas’ dad finally netted the fish. Upon seeing what was a new PB, he was absolutely chuffed!”

The fish fell to a pink wafter and sets Thomas well on the way to a successful carp angling career!
