New lake record carp at 40lb 8oz

Bradley Price set a new venue record at Yateley South Lake with this 40lb 8oz common.
The primary school teacher had considered moving swims during his 48-hour session and was just about to pack up when he got the take.
Bradley told Angling Times: “The first 24 hours were unproductive. I even thought about moving, as I had been told the bailiffs had recently removed a snag that attracted fish to the area. The swim had also been fished for a week straight beforehand with only one fish coming out.”
Despite the odds looking poor, the 22-year-old stayed put and was rewarded with a 19lb mirror at 3am on his second night.
He added: “At about 9am the next morning the left-hand rod screeched off. It was tight to the left of the island and the fish started trying to take me towards some other snags, but luckily I got it under control after about five to 10 minutes.”
Bradley baited with tiger nuts, sweetcorn and boilies, and presented a CC Moore Equinox hookbait topped with fake corn.
