Washing line trick fools 32lb 10oz linear

All round big fish angler Julian Chidgey made the switch from winter to spring species in style landing this 32lb 10oz linear mirror from Anglers Paradise in Devon on his first session of the spring.

Targeting the specimen lake on the well-known complex, 29 year old angling guide and consultant Jules employed some crafty tactics to outfit the resident carp.

“I have found the carp in the specimen lake to be very wary of lines in the clear water. Therefore, I dropped the rig into the margins by hand and clipped my line to a spare bank stick using an elastic band, meaning my main line was out of the water. At first light the water erupted as the fish hooked itself in the shallow water. I was absolutely over the moon as I've been after this fish for quite some time.”

Julian used a 14mm Richworth kg1 boilie fished in a small pva bag made using the new Fox Rapide loader system, addding another specimen of 26lb during his session.
