Specimen carp banked in Alders Farm match

Catching big carp usually involves sitting in a bivvy behind a pod for hours on end but Paul Barnes managed to extract this 26lb 8oz beast on simple pole tactics during the latest match at Alders Farm.

The GOT Baits backed rod decided to use double corn over a bed of 3G groundbait in the margins on the Specimen Lake at the Buckinghamshire complex and was rewarded with the biggest fish of the event at the halfway point.

At the weigh in it was revealed Paul managed to secure the runners up spot after he placed 59lb 8oz on to the scales, with his team mate Vic Nugent stealing top spot with 62lb 8oz of pole and paste tempted carp.
