EA rescue mission saves large shoals of game fish

The Environment Agency were forced to rescue hundreds of fish after water levels in a small river dropped critically low.

Staff scrambled to the River Teme in Leintwardine, Herefordshire, after reports surfaced suggesting large numbers of brown trout and grayling were in danger of perishing.

Over 800 fish were removed and placed further downstream in a deeper spot and the EA will continue to monitor the situation over the next few weeks.
