Wayne Little – 222lb blue record blue shark

The colossal predator was caught by Wayne during a charter boat trip with AT columnist Martin Bowler out of Milford Haven, West Wales and would break the current record by over 4lb.

Ken Brown – 5lb 10oz & 4lb 12oz perch brace

The biggest ever brace of perch was caught by the Tring-based roofer from a Hertfordshire reservoir. Both fish were caught within minutes of each other and fell to maggots and lobworm tails.

Keith Little – 8lb 6oz chub from the River Lea

Targeting a stretch of the River Lea in Essex, retired lorry driver Keith Little, banked the biggest chub of the season on a hair-rigged double 10mm halibut pellet.

Paul Garner – 54lb 8oz mirror carp caught on bream tackle

While fishing for bream on Cambridgeshire’s St Ives Lagoon, Paul Garner hooked into and successfully landed one of the biggest carp in the country, The Fat Lady, weighing 54lb 8oz.

Colin Hall – five double figure tench to 11lb 2oz in one session

Colin’s mega hit of fish was taken from the Bawburgh complex in Norfolk after he undertook a huge bait bombardment. He also banked a further nine tench between 6lb and 9lb.

Martin Jauncey – 20lb 2oz zander from the River Severn

The second biggest zander of all time, which fell just 1lb 3oz short of the British record, was taken by Martin with a trotted roach livebait.

Andy Charmer – 40lb 8oz Chew Valley Reservoir

The huge predator almost doubled Andy’s previous personal best for the species, and fell to a sardine hookbait offered just 30yds from the bank on the 1,200-acre venue.

Steve Ricketts – 9lb 10oz eel from a Colne Valley pit

After heading to a venue which he hadn’t fished for 10 years Steve topped a five fish haul with a massive 9lb 10oz fish – the second biggest ever caught by design.
