Schoolboy’s 3lb rudd

SCHOOLBOY Callum Brocklesby achieved what many seasoned specimen anglers can only dream of when he slipped the net under this huge 3lb rudd.
The six-year-old Scunthorpe-based lad was carp fishing with his dad Richard on Neville Fickling’s Daiwa Manton Fishery when the prized lump took a liking to his 15mm homemade pop-up boilie.
Although mirrors and commons are the primary target of many that visit the fishery, Richard believes they are missing out on some incredible silverfish sport.
He said: “The water has produced lots of rudd to over 3lb to carp anglers, and Callum has had a couple of 2lb fish from the venue in the past, but that didn’t detract from his latest achievement.”
