Two times Fish O'Mania champion Andy Bennett will have a shot at making it three this year after he bagged his place in the 2024 final.

The Guru-backed star entered the latest qualifier at The Oaks in North Yorkshire and was buoyed by picking fancied peg 1 on Ash Pool out of the draw bag.

Working with meat in the margins and pellets on the long pole, he got off to a flying start, putting approximately 100lb in his keepnets in the opening three hours.

That red hot start eventually petered out though, with bites hard to come by in the final two hours as his rivals closed the gap.

After a tense weigh in, it was revealed that he had managed to cling on, taking top spot with 166lb 12oz. Second placed Ryan Laycock finished on 152lb 1oz from peg 13 on the same lake, with Kieran Marsden's 149lb 10oz from peg 55 on Maple securing third place.
