More and more pleasure anglers are moving from traditional umbrellas in favour of modern ‘day shelters’ and the lads at TF Gear reckon they’ve just come up with the ultimate model.
The Force 8 Rapid Day shelter is now faster and easier to erect than the original Force 8, and it’s also far more stable in adverse weather.
Capable of being fully erected and pegged down in seconds, it will shelter an angler on a full-sized bedchair, or accommodate two anglers on seatboxes or low chairs.
It’s perfect for ‘lad and dad’ day sessions on commercials, or as a quick overnight waterproof shelter for summer fishing in fine weather.
The shelter weighs just 5lb 6oz (without the supplied tent pegs), which is far less than many umbrellas. It’s made from a lightweight but highly durable nylon stretched over reinforced glass ribs and, once erected and pegged down, it’s remarkably rigid.
The shelter gives good protection overhead and on three sides and features a Velcro rear flap that can be opened and used for either ventilation, or for pushing pole sections through.
It comes with eight, good quality, heavy-duty tent pegs and guy ropes to keep it rock-solid in high winds.
The lads at TF Gear give this bit of kit a full recommended retail price of £99.99, but its promotional price is now a far more affordable £59.99, which is cheaper than many quality brollies.
We’d never seen this model before but, straight out of the bag, were able to set it up and fully peg it out in just short of 40 seconds.
