Brasenose Two delivers new lake record

Tom Atkins couldn’t believe what he had caught as a new Linear Fisheries lake record wallowed in his net.

As we reported briefly last week, this 38lb 2oz is a new venue best for Brasenose Two at the Oxfordshire complex.

Tom, from nearby Wantage, told Angling Times: “As the lead dropped off the fish came to the surface quickly. It felt heavy and took about 20 minutes to land. As I got the fish in the net I couldn't believe what I had caught so had to wake up my brother to weigh it and take pictures.”

The 31-year-old caught five other upper doubles during his 48-hour session, fishing on a gravel area at 80 yards.
