Start of river season could be a wash-out

The first weekend of the river season could be a wash-out for many anglers, the Met Office is warning.

The weather is set to gradually deteriorate from Friday onwards, with many places being hit with persistent rain accompanied by strong, possibly gale force winds.

The best chance of an uninterrupted day’s angling will be had on Thursday, the first day of the new season, when most places will witness a mixture of sunshine and showers.
