Canon EOS 2000D DSLR Camera
Price: $322 (was 479.99)

redirect.viglink.com

There is nothing worse than catching the fish you've always wanted to bank, only to be underwhelmed with the photos after! The Canon EOS 2000D will eliminate that, and it is easily one of the best cameras for angling, which is why it is a firm favourite amongst many of the top anglers.

Compact, lightweight and dead easy to get the hang of, this DSLR punches well above its weight, whether you're using it on a tripod for self-takes or handing it to your mate for that perfect grip and grin.

Pair it with the Canon Camera Connect app and you can trigger the shutter from your phone, check the framing, and even adjust settings without having to go back and forth. Perfect for beginners or when you’re angling alone and the clock’s ticking on keeping that fish in tip-top condition.

It’s got a 24.2MP sensor, proper background blur for those eye catching portraits, and a fast autofocus that actually locks on, even in low light, so you can get a great shot regardless of time of capture. Also, unlike some bulkier setups, the 200D won’t take up half your barrow.

Pros

  • Compact DSLR Camera
  • Companion app assists with self takes

Cons

  • Might need some add-ons depending how far you want to take your photography

Price: $104.99 (was £137.99)

Carp fishing is by far the most popular branch of UK coarse fishing, and it shows no signs of slowing down. If you are thinking of having a go at it, why not take a look at the Mitchell GT Pro carp setup, which apart from a net and mat has everything else you need to start carp fishing, and for under £105, it is easily the cheapest decent setup we have seen.

The rods are 2.5lb test curve, so will even double up as barbel rods on bigger rivers like the Trent and Thames, and the baitrunner reels come spooled with line to save you a job too.

We won't say this is the greatest carp tackle available, but not everyone can afford that nor does everyone want to spend a fortune in case it isn't for them. However this is easily quality enough to catch big carp and fish a variety of venues all over the country on a budget, and a simple, hassle free introduction to carp fishing.

Pros

  • Rods are great for carp and barbel
  • Alarms are simple and easy to use
  • Rod pod is really sturdy

Cons

  • You will need to add a net and an unhooking mat

Price: $59.49 (was £98.99)

Whether you want a rod that packs down to fit in the boot of your car or are looking for something to stuff in your suitcase when jetting abroad, I cannot recommend the Abu Gracia Diplomat enough. Not only does it come with a decent quality reel, the rod itself is excellent, and I have not only owned one for several years, but have used it to great effect for species all over the world and it has never let me down. It is as good down the local canal spinning for perch and pike as it is catching larger saltwater species like bass and even bonefish!

For the price it is a steal, it comes with a hardcore tube too that accommodates the reel, so you'll never get to your destination and be horrified that your rod is now in eighty pieces rather than four.

Pros

  • Hardcase tube is extremely tough to prevent damage
  • Rod is really good quality, lightweight and durable

Cons

  • I would love to see a 5 or even 6 piece version at longer lengths

Fox EOS Bedchair
Price: £139.99 (was £149.99)

With three size options the Fox EOS Bedchair gives you the ability to find the best bedchair for your needs, there's something so suit everyone.

Plus, they fold up easily for storage and transport and have a strap and buckle system to keep them nice and compact, even with your sleeping bag still inside!

Pros

  • Range of 3 beds to suit preferences and budget
  • Strap and buckle system keeps bed compact when folded

Cons

  • Only 10cm of adjustment on legs so may not be great on sloping banks

Grangers Clothing Wash and Repel
Price: $11.10 (was £21.50)

If your Gore-Tex has seen better days, covered in a mix of groundbait, fish slime and mud, this is the gear you need to bring it back to life. Grangers Clothing Wash and Repel is a proper two-in-one product that not only cleans your waterproofs but also reproofs them in the same wash.

It’s ideal for fishing jackets, overtrousers and bib ‘n’ brace kits, especially those covered in the usual mess that comes with long sessions on the bank. This stuff shifts dirt and smells while restoring the waterproof coating that keeps you dry, ensuring your Gore-Tex keeps performing properly. Keeping your Gore-Tex clean is vital for keeping the waterproof fabrics working as they should.

It’s easy to use too. Just pop the liquid in the washing machine as you would any other detergent and it takes care of everything. It’s fully suitable for Gore-Tex, and other technical fabrics.

Pros

  • Clean and re-waterproof your Gore-Tex clothing
  • Simple and easy to use

Cons

  • Not really practical for hand washing
