A top Midlands fishery has moved to widen its appeal by introducing its first ever 30lb-plus carp.

Meadowlands is a superb venue for silvers and smaller carp.

Coventry’s Meadowlands Fishery appeals to a wide range of anglers, with huge shoals of roach and skimmers targeted by silverfish enthusiasts, while carp anglers are kept busy with stacks of fish in the 5-20lb bracket.

Fishery staff have now decided to introduce the huge 31lb mirror to give people a shot at a beast for the price of a day ticket, with the fish released into Lambsdown Lake.

Who will be the first lucky angler to catch it?
