Enormous brace of roach landed in five-minute feeding spell

This autumn’s run of huge stillwater roach shows no sign of slowing, with Neil Tristram being the latest angler to hit the jackpot with a brace of huge redfins scaling 3lb 12oz and 2lb 15oz 8dr.

The Nottinghamshire rod was fishing a local syndicate gravel pit, where he caught the fine pair of fish within a five-minute feeding spell.

They are the result of a long campaign on the water, which is predominantly fished by carp anglers. Both fell to maggot feeder tactics, with three-inch hooklinks and red maggot hookbaits.
