After a few years away fishing elsewhere, Craig McEvoy returned to RH Fisheries' The Avenue in spectacular style this week, banking the enormous 'Single Scale' at a whopping 56lb.
The spectacular mirror carp is Craig's 100th fish from the Shropshire venue, and is a carp that has previously starred on TV, after its capture in ITV's Grand Fishing Adventure.

"I thought I was heading for a blank," Craig told us.
"I decided to get my old diaries and made a table of all the captures, dates, rig and bait, and was amazed when I spotted a pattern to what rig and bait had done me so well in the past.
"This led to me changing things up, and out went a Simply Red pop-up on a small stiff Hinge rig."
With multiple fish showing elsewhere, Craig was tempted to move, until he saw a monster carp show in the zone he was fishing.

"It was hard sitting on my hands but boy am I glad I did," he said.
"The take was really strange, a single bleep, then another, with the bobbin having slightly lifted no more than a cm."
Unsure if a fish was on, Craig decided to hit into the bite and was amazed to find the fish had kited along a clay bar about 10-yards.
"I'm not sure how carp do that," he told us.
