Not long ago, barbel fanatic George Cornwell banked a new barbel PB of 15lb 7oz from the Hampshire Avon. Well, he’s just smashed that fish out of the park with this 17lb 2oz whopper!
It was caught from the same venue and fell to a paste-wrapped boilie fished alongside a small PVA bag of freebies.
The fish gave a tentative bite, but put up a fight like nothing George had ever known. Understandably, he was mightily relieved when it finally went into the net!
