Emma Dean became the envy of roach anglers the land over when she landed this superb 3lb roach while fishing at Norfolk’s Highbridge Fisheries with her partner, Kev Oakley.

On a previous trip to the syndicate venue, she’d managed 20 small roach, with bites coming thick and fast. But on this occasion, she was having little luck, so decided to fish her 8mm pellet hookbait slightly deeper in the water column.
“I caught a couple of small ones quickly, but when I hooked the next fish, I could instantly tell it was bigger,” Emma told us.
“I wondered if it was a small carp, but when it came to the surface, I realised it was a roach, and a big one at that! When we weighed it, I was shocked. Kev said it was like catching a 50lb carp!”
