An initiative that represents fishing in Scotland has partnered with a leading tackle store in a bid to boost its bargaining powers.
Angling Scotland was formed in 2017 to cover coarse, sea and game angling in the country. It aims to give Scotland’s estimated 400,000 anglers a collective voice by representing them in conversations with government and other authorities. Additionally, they protect access to fishing, support young anglers and reinforce the role anglers play as guardians of the aquatic environment.
In a new partnership with Glasgow Angling Centre, they are allowing the first 10,000 people who join to effectively do so for free, with their £5 membership fee being redeemable as a voucher online or in-store.
Angling Scotland Chair, Alison Baker, is delighted at the new partnership.
“This deal will not only benefit our members but hopefully also help to increase our membership and allow us to bring more pressure to bear on Scottish ministers, government departments, businesses and other key stakeholders to address the seemingly ever-increasing number of threats to angling.”
