Top matchman Rob Wootton showed why many believe he is the most in-form angler in the land after he secured his spot in yet another big money final.

Having bagged three section wins on the bounce at Birmingham’s Barston Lakes to be crowned individual champion of the first ever European Feeder Cup, he made an unexpected return to the venue just days later.

A filming session for his online channel ‘THE EDGE’ was called off due to heavy rain, with Rob securing a last-minute ticket to compete in the Aero Feeder Cup qualifier.

Rob was crowned European Feeder Cup individual champion at Barston.

Drawn on peg 106, he decided to launch a Hybrid feeder loaded with micro pellets to the middle to try and find a few of the big carp that reside in the fishery.

Patience was required but he ended up bagging six lumps and plenty of quality skimmers that weighed 93lb in total.

That was enough to win the 60-peg contest and gain his place in the final.

He will now compete for the £4,000 winner’s cheque plus the trophy at Lindholme Lakes on November 7.
