Match fishing phenomenon Jamie Hughes capped off one of the greatest weeks of his career after he bagged a place in the Maver Match This final.

The Matrix-backed star drew peg 63 on the Hollywood Bowl Lake at Scunthorpe's Messingham Sandsand bagged up from the word go, fishing the short pole and down the margins for a colossal 275lb 12oz total.

That was more than 100lb better than the nearest chaser, with Jamie now going through to the final at Hayfield Lakes on August 31.

His victory comes just days after he secured a place in another major final, winning the Fish O'Mania qualifier at Shropshire's Weston Pools with 176lb 7oz.
