It's not often carp anglers want recaptures, but in the case of Adam Whittington his latest catch was a fish he was more than happy to meet again.

Fishing the Frimley Pit 3 syndicate in Surrey, he landed the impressive 'Charlies Mate' at a whopping 54lb 6oz, a fish he caught on a guest session at the venue 23 years ago, when it was just 36lb!

Adam Whittington and Frimley's 'Charlie's Mate'.

The huge common took a Dynamite Baits Naked Tigernut hookbait fished over a handful of Chilli hemp, buckwheat and a few crumbed Complex-T boilies, which Adam had soaked in a combination of Shrimp Extract and Fish Gutzz liquids.

After craftily hand placing his trap under a marginal bush, Adam was pretty confident of a take and was rewarded with the biggest fish in the lake.

"Years later and this one remains a magnificent carp," he said.

Recaptures are ok when they look like this one.

THREE TACKLE AND BAIT ITEMS THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE

Supplied in 500ml jars, the Dynamite Baits Naked Tiger Nuts are the perfect hookbait that carp just can't resist. Prepared in the jar, the nuts are oozing with a fish attracting syrup that gives them a real boost. Being skinned also makes them great for more cautious fish as they have more of a washed-out appearance than standard tigers.

Pros

  • Prepared in jar for an extra boost of attraction.
  • Washed-out look for crafty fish.

Cons

  • Not the biggest jar, but you won't need to introduce many.

For fans of fishmeal boilies the Dynamite Baits Complex-T range will be a real winner. The baits have some of the best ingredients, which carp absolutely love, including LT94 fishmeal, Haith's birdfood, Robin Red and pre-digested liver extract.

Subtle in colouration with a meaty flavour profile, this is a real feed boilie that the fish will come back for time and time again.

Pros

  • Superb ingredients.
  • Subtle colouration.

Cons

  • Not ideal in the winter months.

Liquids can bring a massive edge to your carp fishing baits, and the Dynamite Baits Shrimp Extract Liquid is one that carp and barbel absolutely love the taste of. Highly concentrated, this liquid is perfect for glugging boilies, hookbaits and PVA bags. The smell is powerful and the pre-digested proteins of the soluble shrimp provide overwhelming attraction.

Pros

  • High protein liquid.
  • PVA friendly.

Cons

  • Not the best option in colder water.
