A hefty sum of cash raised from the sale of donated fishing tackle has been donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital – a centre dedicated to children’s healthcare.

Angling Projects is a charity set up by Les Webber MBE 46 years ago with an aim of getting kids fishing. To run coaching sessions, it relies on tackle donations from kind-hearted anglers. Recently, the charity sold tackle surplus to its requirements, raising £10,000 for GOSH.

“To all the anglers that donated, thank you – you can be proud of yourselves for contributing to this fantastic children’s hospital,” Les said.

“The money will go towards building a specialist cancer centre.”
