Angler left ‘grinning all day’ after huge perch catch

Having spent many hours perch fishing on his local Great Ouse, getting to grips with targeting the species on a huge Midlands stillwater seemed a challenge for Adam Riches - but his efforts were duly rewarded with this beautifully-marked 4lb 14oz specimen.

It's the joint-biggest example of the species that Adam has ever landed, and a fish that continues his fine run of recent form, coming only a few weeks after a PB bream at 17lb 2oz.

The perch fell to lure tactics and came shortly after he started fishing. It gave a great account of itself as it powered around under the boat. Adam noted that the stripey was in excellent condition and left him 'grinning for the rest of the day'.
