A top commercial fishery has started gearing up for winter by adding over 2,000lb of quality silverfish into a pair of new waters.

The fish were rarely targeted in the original lake they were in.

Staff at North Yorkshire’s Woodland Lakes launched a netting operation on Curlew and Wagtail Lakes to remove silvers that were rarely targeted.

The end result was a colossal number of fish being found, with bream to 4lb, roach and tench to 2lb and perch to well over 3lb being relocated.

They have now been rehomed in the revamped Fox Covert Lake and the brand-new Sir Briggs Lake.

Both are open to day ticket anglers, with several matches planned in the coming weeks.
