Canon EOS 2000D DSLR Camera
Price: $302.47 (was £479.99)

There is nothing worse than catching the fish you've always wanted to bank, only to be underwhelmed with the photos after! The Canon EOS 2000D will eliminate that, and it is easily one of the best cameras for angling, which is why it is a firm favourite amongst many of the top anglers.

Compact, lightweight and dead easy to get the hang of, this DSLR punches well above its weight, whether you're using it on a tripod for self-takes or handing it to your mate for that perfect grip and grin.

Pair it with the Canon Camera Connect app and you can trigger the shutter from your phone, check the framing, and even adjust settings without having to go back and forth. Perfect for beginners or when you’re angling alone and the clock’s ticking on keeping that fish in tip-top condition.

It’s got a 24.2MP sensor, proper background blur for those eye catching portraits, and a fast autofocus that actually locks on, even in low light, so you can get a great shot regardless of time of capture. Also, unlike some bulkier setups, the 200D won’t take up half your barrow.

Pros

  • Compact DSLR Camera
  • Companion app assists with self takes

Cons

  • Significant investent when you have a camera on your phone

Whether you have always wanted a rod that packs down to fit in the boot of your car or are looking for something to stuff in your suitcase when jetting abroad, I cannot recommend the Abu Gracia Diplomat enough.

Not only does it come with a decent quality reel, the rod itself is excellent, and I have not only owned one for several years, but have used it to great effect for species all over the world, and it has never let me down. It is as good down the local canal spinning for perch and pike as it is catching larger saltwater species like bass and even bonefish!

For the price it is a steal, it comes with a hardcore tube too that accommodates the reel, allowing you to keep it setup and prevent you arriving at your destination, horrified, that your rod is now in eighty pieces rather than four.

Pros

  • Hardcase tube is extremely tough to prevent damage
  • Rod is really good quality, lightweight and durable

Cons

  • I would love to see a 5 or even 6 piece version at longer lengths

Price: $104.99 (was £137.99)

Carp fishing is by far the most popular branch of UK coarse fishing, and it shows no signs of slowing down. If you are thinking of having a go at it, why not take a look at the Mitchell GT Pro carp setup, which apart from a net and mat has everything else you need to start carp fishing, and for under £105, it is easily the cheapest decent setup we have seen.

The rods are 2.5lb test curve, so will even double up as barbel rods on bigger rivers like the Trent and Thames, and the baitrunner reels come spooled with line to save you a job too.

We won't say this is the greatest carp tackle available, but not everyone can afford that nor does everyone want to spend a fortune in case it isn't for them. However this is easily quality enough to catch big carp and fish a variety of venues all over the country on a budget, and a simple, hassle free introduction to carp fishing.

Pros

  • Rods are great for carp and barbel
  • Alarms are simple and easy to use
  • Rod pod is really sturdy

Cons

  • You will need to add a net and an unhooking mat

Let's face it, the weather isn't always as good as it is now and if you fish all year you'll know the value of a good pair of wellies. The Aigle Parcours are wellies we use ourselves in our own fishing and you can check out our full review here...

Extremely comfortable, hardwearing and warm they will catch you more fish as a result of wearing them, simply because you will be able to tolerate staying on the bank for longer periods compared to wearing inadequate footwear.

They aren't cheap, Aigle's never are, but quality rarely is and for this price, it is definitely worth taking advantage of the 46% discount if you want to invest in a superb pair of wellies that will last you years.

Pros

  • Unrivalled comfort
  • Really durable
  • Will last for years, ours have!

Cons

  • A little warm for some anglers in the summer

Go Pro Hero 13
Price: $284.13 (was £399.99)

If you’re filming your fishing, there are two rules, don’t miss the bite, and don’t post rubbish. The GoPro HERO13 Black makes both unlikely. Whether you’re filming fish feeding in the margin, or a wide shot of you chucking a lead to the horizon, this camera can capture it all, in glorious 5.3K.

This little camera records in higher resolution than your TV probably supports, can record at up to 400 frames per second to really slow things down, if you want to milk that netting moment, and even lets you pull 24.7MP stills straight from your footage. Ideal when you realise your mate isn’t the best photographer and your heads out of shot in the grip and grin shot.

Built to take a beating, the HERO13 Black shrugs off rain, dust, and an accidental dunking, as it’s waterproof to 10 metres. The lens has a water repellent cover to keep glare at bay and your footage clear.

Pros

  • Captures video in 5.3K
  • Take 24.7MP still from footage

Cons

  • In order to get the best out of the camera you may need to be experienced with editing software

JRC Contact CR 10000FS Reels
Price: $51.99 (was £68.84)

If you’re just starting out in carp or barbel fishing, or simply want a dependable, no-fuss pair of reels. The JRC Contact CR 10000FS Reels are worth considering. Sold as a pair, they offer excellent value for anyone setting up a two-rod approach on a budget.

Each reel comes pre-loaded with 0.35mm monofilament line, which we reckon to be around 15lb breaking strain, more than enough for most commercial carp waters or barbel stretches on the river. That means you can head straight to the bank without worrying about spooling up or buying extra line.

Despite the price, these reels aren’t short on features. They’re built around a tough graphite body and rotor, with an aluminium spool and sturdy zinc alloy internals. The free spool system works smoothly and reliably, giving you piece of mind that the rod won’t disappear into the lake or river if you get a savage bite.

Pros

  • Freespool function ensure reel gives line when you get a bite
  • Pre-loaded with 0.35mm (est. 15lb) line

Cons

  • 10000 size might be too big for some anglers preferences

Atuvos Air Tag Tracker
Price: $26.99 (was £39.99)

While not actually fishing tackle, with the rise in tackle theft, these Air Tags from Atuvos might just be the best thing you ever buy for fishing.

For those unfamiliar with airtags, these handy little gadgets can be hidden in holdalls, bags, seatboxes, just about anywhere due to their small size. They are connected to your phone and once they are live, they can be tracked globally (with a subscription) so if the worst happens and your gear is stolen, you may well be able to track it down and retrieve it, or at least let the police know!

A handy little item, perfect for your car keys or other items you have with you on the bank or at home, and with four costing less than £30, the hassle and time these things have saved us, they are priceless!

Pros

  • Track down stolen fishing tackle
  • Live map to show where your tag is located

Cons

  • Apple only, although Android tags are available
