If you accidentally hooked a lost stash of money while fishing, would you return it to its rightful owner?

The truthful answer for a lot of us might be less than flattering, but not in the case of Minnesota teenager Connor Halsa. Having long since resigned himself to losing the wallet, farmer Jim Denney told WDAY-TV it was “still hard to believe” even with the now dried out bank notes safely back in his hands.

Also an angler, Jim had lost the wallet while fishing, only realising when he was left red-faced at being unable to pay the bill at the local resort.

Even more admirably, Connor refused to accept a reward for it, saying to local press “We didn’t work hard for the money- he did”. However, he did happily accept the farmer’s offer to buy him a new cool box for his fishing trips by way of thanks. Read more on this story in the New York Post here.
