While he’s certainly no stranger to catching big grayling from chalk streams, with poor conditions prevailing in the south of England, Daniel Bouskila headed to the wilds of Scotland, where he landed this superb fish weighing 3lb 1oz.
After travelling up with his friend Tom Gosden, once they’d arrived at the river, the pair set about trying to locate the fish – something that initially proved challenging compared to the more intimate southern venues they’re used to.
However, over several days of switching between trotting and nymphing tactics, they located some holding spots and landed 16 fish between them, with a few two-pounders included, and capped by the three-pounder for Daniel, which fell to a squirmy worm nymph.
