Schoolboy banks colossal haul of specimen rudd

Schoolboy Henry Lane had a session to remember when he banked a series of big rudd to a best of 2lb 9oz on his 'debut' session.

Waggler fishing a pre-baited spot with maggot and corn cocktails against the lily pads while fishing from a boat with his dad during a session on a Norfolk stillwater, he experienced hectic action from the off after a 5am start. His dad Greg was so busy landing, weighing and photographing fish for Henry that he didn’t even get a chance to have a cast himself!

He managed two tench to 6lb 14oz, a brace of bream around the 4lb mark, and plenty of rudd, with the biggest weighing 2lb 9oz, backed up by six other two-pounders.

It was the first session where the junior fished for himself, casting and playing big fish, as his dad looked on.

All of the fish were subdued on 4lb Maxima line and a size 14 hook.
