Most anglers are happy if they beat a PB once every few seasons, so imagine how Dorset angler George Cornwell feels after landing this 17lb 12oz barbel – his third PB for this season already!

It was caught from the Hampshire Avon on a boilie hookbait fished alongside a PVA stringer. The bite was the only one of the session, but he wasn’t complaining!

His other personal bests this season were also barbel, another giant of 17lb 2oz back in November and a 15lb 7oz specimen in September.
