Commercial match fishing star Andy May secured his place in yet another big money final after he bagged glory during the latest Golden Reel qualifier.

The Preston Innovations-backed angler went head-to-head with his great mate Jamie Hughes during the heat at Cheshire’s Partridge Lakes, with both in contention to take the honours.

In the end it was Andy’s shallow fishing attack with a late flurry down the edge from peg 155 on Covey Canal Six that came out on top, with 182lb going on to the scales.

Over on peg 170 of the same lake Jamie rotated various pole lines to finish with 145lb, bagging him a place in the tournament’s semi-final.
