(This catch was reported before the end of the coarse fishing season on rivers on March 15th.)

GARY Newman has just enjoyed his best-ever week’s fishing on the Thames, where he landed a 15lb 14oz barbel and a 7lb 9oz chub from a stretch he hadn’t fished before.

He moved to the new area to get away from the crowds, and the switch certainly paid off. He landed another chub of 6lb 2oz, all the fish falling to his home-made milk protein boilies fished on size 10 hooks and 20lb Fireline hooklinks alongside small PVA bags of chopped boilies.

Want to catch yourself a PB chub next season? Here are some tips and venues to help you do it.
