National Fishing Month (NFM) returns between July 26 and August 31 this year, and during that time, you can take a friend fishing for free.
Launching at The Game Fair at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire, NFM is partnering with the hugely successful Take a Friend Fishing (TAFF) initiative, returning over the same timeframe, in which rod licence holders can apply for a free one-day permit to introduce a newcomer or lapsed angler to the sport.
It’s hoped that the scheme will continue the successful spring for angling participation, during which rod licence sales were up nearly 20 per cent.
“Take a Friend Fishing is making a difference to the long-term development of angling recruitment – it makes angling accessible and enjoyable,” said Andrew Race, Chairman of the Angling Trades Association.
