Fishing is the perfect sport for those who want to spend some time alone to reset or find some peace from their hectic schedules. However, sometimes it is great to be out on the bank with friends and family, especially when you catch a special fish or something completely unexpected turns up, so they can share the moment with you. This is exactly what happened to Ben Wardle while fishing on the river with his niece and brother recently.
“During a session on the river I managed to catch my first-ever zander in the shape of this ten-pounder.
“It tooka deadbait fished on a running leger rig, with the bite coming just before dark.
“As I played the fish, I expected it to be a pike and so when I realised that it was a zander, I shouted to my brother in excitement.
“Once it had been safely landed, I was shaking with adrenaline. Sharing the moment with my niece made it even more special.”
