While many of us would love to spend every waking hour on the bank, it just isn't feasible and for many, getting out fishing can be difficult at the best of times. When we have more time on our hands, it is great to go and target certain fish, but when we are limited, it can be just as enjoyable to try and catch whatever is in your swim, which is exactly what Charlie Frankish did on a recent session to his local river.
“My fishing time has been limited this year, but recently I fished my first session of the season on the tidal River Hull, where you never really know what you’ll catch!
“I landed roach, rudd, bream, eels and baby barbel but, come the evening, things went quiet. Then, at midnight, I hooked a fish that held deep. I knew there were a few snags in the swim, but still managed to net it safely. At 12lb 4oz it’s a new PB!”
