A small, struggling tackle shop has just experienced its busiest week in years after issuing a call for help to the angling community.
The Tackle Shop Ely was opened by Ken Shipp in 2021, but has struggled due to the cost-of-living crisis. However, last week, Ken posted on social media, asking for people to visit his Cambridgeshire shop – and nearly 2,000 people shared it online. “It’s been crazy – I’ve had people from America getting in touch!” he told us. “Last week was the busiest I’ve had since opening. Prior to that, things had been so slow we weren’t open often, but I’m going all out, and have hired two girls to help us push on.
“Please support me to make this work!” he added.
