During a session on the Hampshire Avon Mark Woodage managed this giant 7lb 13oz chub thanks to a clever baiting trick.

After first landing one of 5lb 13oz, he decided to rest the swim. As he watched a group of chub graze over his free boilie offerings, he noticed a much bigger fish enter the swim.

Keen to separate it from its shoal mates, he baited a second area, splitting the group. It worked a treat and the biggest fish was straight on to Mark’s new feed area.

It then didn’t take him long to hook and land it, using a legered boilie.
