Boilie does the trick for huge Dorset Stour chub

There probably isn't a river in the country that sees more trotted maggots than the Dorset Stour, but other tactics work too, as Mark Hewett proved with this 7lb 10oz chub.

The Dorset angler has had previous good results at the venue while float fishing but on this occasion switched to legering a 12mm paste-wrapped boilie in a deeper slack by some tree branches.

A size 10 hook and 10lb hooklink were strong enough to steer the fish from cover.
