Big US common caught by youngster that 'loves carp fishing'

While most kids in the USA grow up fishing for bass, Tyler Kross is bucking the trend and is addicted to targeting carp.

The nine-year-old recently caught the fish of his dreams in the form of this 37lb common from a lake in Connecticut.

His dad, Glenn, said: “He wakes up every day at 5.30am and asks to go fishing. He’s constantly working harder to become a better angler.

“He fought this huge common carp solo from start to finish, landing it in just under 10 minutes. Things got a bit scary at the end when the fish made two long runs, but it finally slid into the net, and we could breathe again!

“Tyler’s already decided what he wants to do when he grows up: have his own fishing show!” added Glenn.
