Big Grafham perch falls as light fades

Big Grafham perch falls as light fades

Big perch are known for being picky feeders at times, and on trip to a flat-calm Grafham Water, Simon Davidson had to wait until the clouds rolled over and the light faded before tempting this 4lb 15oz specimen.

He was using lure tactics on the session, which he shared with his dad, James. The pair had landed a few good fish on small shads throughout the day – James with one of 3lb 15oz and Simon with a fish of 4lb exactly – before the real monster came out to play!

It took a jelly worm and smashed Simon’s previous best of 4lb 4oz.
