Andy Power seems to have a real affinity with Larford Lakes when it comes to big money finals, the Preston Innovations ace winning his second Golden Reel Final at the weekend to sit alongside 2011 Match This and that first Golden Reel triumph taken back in 2018 at the Stourport water.
Fished on the Match Lake, Somerset-based Andy picked up the £35,000 prize thanks to a 118-11-0 net of carp from Peg 5 on the Grass Bank, ending the match just over 15lb in front of second-placed Steve Forster who banked 103-6-0 from Peg 16 on the Burr Bank.

Andy kicked off on bomb and pellet at 20m and despite a slow start gradually began putting some fish together. However, it was always going to be aboutthe margins and dead maggots and groundbait at 6m down the side saw him pick off 10 fish in the final two hours to take him to victory.
