In the warmer months there's nothing more exciting than being able to bag a load of fish right at your feet. Many species visit the margins at this time of year as it is where the majority of the food is. This is particularly obvious on commercial fisheries, where the margins become alive late in the day or the last hour of the match.
Here then are 10 great venues where you will catch in the edge all day if you get your tactics right...
Brookside Fisheries, Warrington, Cheshire
Kingfisher and Meadow Lakes are both home to quality carp and a range of other species. Fish the short pole in front and in the margins with maggots to catch all sorts.

The Canal has great marginal features that are a good bet to fish near. Try expander pellets and corn, fished over micros.

Westwood Lakes, Boston, Lincolnshire
Current home of Fish O' Mania, this prolific complex responds well to margin fishing as temperatures rise. Maggots are a good option. Hard pellets on a short line will produce too.

Trev’s Lake is home to quality carp, tench and bream, all of which can be caught in the deeper water down the edge on worm hookbaits.

There’s no need to fish far out at this fish-filled venue. Get yourself some fishery pellets and keep the feed tight and minimal.

The match and pleasure lakes offer great fishing for mixed species. The short pole line is a good bet for regular bites, fishing maggots or casters.

Huge weights are taken down the margins on the Match Lake. But you’ll also catch plenty short by fishing a Method feeder on the Speci Lake.
