DAIWA LAUNCHES ITS N'ZON LINE-UP

Daiwa has unveiled an exciting new range of feeder fishing tackle and accessories this week.

Known as N’ZON, the line-up boasts 33 new rods, matching reels, luggage, and accessories including keepnets, landing nets, rig cases and a range of cage and distance feeders.

The launch follows the rapid expansion of feeder fishing in the UK, and this the new range is the result of two years’ extensive development and refining of products by Daiwa.

It’s aimed squarely at match and pleasure anglers who fish the feeder on commercials, natural stillwaters and rivers.

LT PLUS FEEDER REELS

Daiwa knows a lot about creating must-have coarse and carp reels and the company hasn’t skimped on quality when it comes to these matching N’ZON feeder reels.

Featuring the LT – Light and Tough – concept, two sizes cover all feeder requirements, and match well to the new rods.

The 5000 size is available with both single and double handles while the bigger, 6000 size is single handle only.

All feature the line- and braid-friendly HIP distance control line clips, DS4 Air Rotor, Twistbuster II, Air Bail, and the hugely popular front Quick Drag system.

Both reels are supplied with a spare spool.

Price: N’ZON Plus LT 5000S-C £175 (£180 for double handle version) and N’ZON Plus LT 6000S £185

CAGE FEEDERS

Incorporating five designs with multiple sizes and weight choices, Daiwa’s N’ZON cage feeder range is comprehensive, to say the least.

These are some of the most

well-constructed feeders we’ve ever seen.

There’s a ‘weight forward’ Cage with base ring and side weight in sizes small to XL from 15g to 80g, a Distance Cage (S, M, and L from 20g to 60g), rounded Tunnel Cage (S, M, and L from 15g to 120g), Square Cage (S, M, and L from 20g to 120g), and plastic mesh-type Open End (S, M, and L from 15g to 80g).

The Open End and Tunnel Cage feeders are made from extra-strong steel mesh and feature shaped base weights to assist casting accuracy.

Price: £2.50

RIG CASES

Similar to items already on the market, these rig cases are useful for the modern feeder angler who requires precision from their hooklengths.

There are two sizes, each in two colours, with magnetic closure and water-resistant seals to protect the contents.

The double-sided 6ins case takes hooklengths of 3ins, 4ins, 5ins and 6ins, while the longer case is for 6ins, 8ins, 10ins, and 12ins hooklengths.

Price: £9.99 and £14.99

EVA & FABRIC LUGGAGE

An extensive range of new luggage will keep your kit perfectly organised. Our first impressions are of very well thought-out items built to last.

There’s a waterproof, washable EVA-based range of tackle bags, bowls and cases, plus a ‘fabric’ line up which includes rod holdalls and reel cases as well as accessory bags.

One stand-out item is the EVA 4-box Feeder Bag which scooped a ‘Best New Box/Luggage’ Award at a recent Euro fishing trade event. This multi-compartment, mini carryall-type bag features four feeder boxes and detachable top, with room for accessories too. It sells for £74.99.

Items in the rest of the range are all fully compatible with each other and include a cool bag, barrow bag, bait bowl sets, accessory cases with clear, zipped lids, and keepnet and bait bags.

Price: From £9.99

NEW NET RANGES

Four new keepnets, comprising 2.5m and 3m micro-mesh nets for those who fish commercials, and two 6mm Fast Flow mesh nets in 3.5m length – are ideal for those who fish a feeder on flowing waters. There’s a choice of round or square nets in the Fast Flow mesh.

Each net features a multi-angle connector and peg-out tabs, and the bottom three sections are made of metal for durability. Each is supplied in a stink bag.

Matching the range are nine landing net heads available in four frame dimensions – 45cm, 50cm, 55cm, and 60cm – in Fast Flow, Nano, and Pellet mesh styles.

Prices: Keepnets from £59.99 to £69.99, landing nets are all £14.99

BOMB RANGE

Three styles of bomb – Tri, Quad, and Oval – in 15g to 60g weight choices allow you to switch

between feeder and bomb in order to cover many situations – different lake bottoms, river and stillwater fishing – and casting distances.

Price: £2.99 for a pack of two

Z & S RODS

Split across two ranges, the 33 N’ZON rods cover all feeder fishing disciplines, from close-range work on commercials and natural lakes to long casting tools and big-river rods which can handle feeders up to 6oz.

The 18-rod ‘Z’ range starts at £180 while the ‘S’ range ranges from £90 up to £120 for the longest model.

The ‘Z’ line up are built around Daiwa’s superb HVF Nanoplus carbon blanks with V-Joint technology plus Cork/EVA Armlock handles, Fuji KDPS reel seats, and Sea-Guide anti-tangle guides with LS rings, and come with three carbon quivertips.

For those who need a bit more in terms of casting weight and distances Daiwa offers four 13ft rods rated from 100g to 180g, plus three 14ft rods which will help you hit those distance spots with big feeders on big waters.

The price-conscious ‘S’ range – a total of 15 rods – offers HVF carbon and similar spec build, plus two carbon quivers. They start with a 10ft, two-piece model with a 40g feeder rating and go through to a powerful 13ft, three-piece rod capable of handling the biggest of feeders.
