AFTER hearing about some big perch on a small lake in the Wirral, Pete Tankard set about targeting its specimens and was rewarded for his pioneering outlook with a magnificent 4lb 8oz fish.
He’d been after a big perch for a few years, and with a day off work, he and his wife Sarah headed to the venue.
Legering popped-up lobworms, he’d landed a few skimmers and chub when his rod ripped off. He initially suspected it was a bream, but then the huge perch popped up and Sarah expertly netted it.
