HAVING started fishing the River Trent just over a year ago, Dean Bradshaw has had some great results with the venue’s barbel, but none better than this whopping 18lb 4oz giant.
Dean was fishing a double 12mm boilie hookbait and received a screaming take early in the morning. Such was the power of the fish that the line continued to peel from the reel after he picked up the rod, but eventually he was able to get the barbel under a little more control and, with his legs shaking, was able to net it safely despite a series of
last-minute lunges.
