SPORT this winter had been tricky for Mick Trillow, with high river levels and coloured water making fishing for perch on the River Thames difficult. But finally the levels returned to near normal, and he went on to enjoy some phenomenal sport, this 4lb 12oz fish topping a haul including three over the 4lb mark.

“After finding where the fish were holding up, I enjoyed a crazy week, landing big perch after big perch,” he told us.
“If someone had told me earlier I’d catch all these fish, I wouldn’t have believed them!”
