“My wife recently surprised me with a weekend getaway for our wedding anniversary to Lakeside Fishing Lodges in Old Leake, LIncolnshire.
“After 24 hours without a bite, I tried further up the lake away from the cabin, and my God, did the move pay off!
“Five minutes after casting out I hooked this monster sturgeon on a 12mm pop-up and double corn, which took me 25 minutes to land. I didn’t have scales strong enough to get a weight, but the owners told me that the only two in the lake were last recorded at 74lb and 86lb.”
