AFTER landing two good bream weighing 12lb and 14lb the previous week, Tim Jackson’s third bite at a southern pit he’s been targeting resulted in this fine 17lb 8oz fish.
Focussing his efforts on a clear, silty patch among weed around 60yds from the bank, the Dorset angler put his faith in the small homemade fishmeal boilies that have served him so well for big bream over recent seasons. He used an 8mm boilie on the hook, which he presented over 0.5kg of crushed offerings.
The all-important bite came right on first light, when Tim lifted into what he could tell instantly was a much bigger fish than the previous two to hit the net.
