THIS colossal 98lb catfish was the pick of a string of huge specimens landed by teenage big-fish fanatic Hannah Truscott during an action-packed week of fishing.

The 15-year-old, from Derbyshire, visited White Lakes in Essex with her dad Paul, where she also managed to land 10 other big cats weighing between 39lb and 84lb.

She had all the fish on 24mm pop-up boilies fished over big beds of pellets, and positioned her rigs on a drop-off in 8ft of water – which she claims is a classic spot for targeting the huge predators.

“I’ve been fishing for cats for three years – they’re my favourite species!” she said.

“The biggest one beats my pb by a few pounds and put up a brilliant scrap on the powerful gear we use, which included 80lb braid and beefy Catmaster rods.”
