STEPHEN GIBBONS' winter roach campaign came to a fitting end after he landed this stunning 2lb 12oz redfin as part of a three-fish haul, which included two other fish over 2lb.
Fishing a Norfolk gravel pit, he targeted a spot just over 50 yards out, where he introduced six Spombs of chilli-flavoured hemp and casters and fished maggot feeder helicopter rigs over the top.
“The bite came just before dark during the three-hour session," he told us.
"The fish is the better of 14 two-pounders I’ve had this winter.”
Three maggots were the winning hookbait for Stephen this time around.
